Women’s Forum Canada will take place in the run-up to the 2018 G7 Summit hosted by Canada and will gather 1,000 leaders from the G7 countries, North America and beyond to reflect and react to the topics on the G7’s agenda. It will challenge the G7 not just to take on the issue of gender equality but to unlock the transformative potential of women’s leadership with the goal of having an impact on decision-makers.
Women’s Forum Canada is working closely with the team of our Ambassador of Canada to France, Isabelle Hudon, who was nominated recently by Prime Minister Trudeau, to be Co-Chair of Gender Diversity to the G7 Summit along with Melinda Gates. In collaboration with the G7 Summit team, Prime Minister Trudeau’s team and the Canadian Embassy, Women’s Forum Canada will work to best align the Forum’s objectives with the government’s, bringing a private sector perspective to the application of gender based analysis to the G7 Summit’s agenda.
Women’s Forum Canada Theme - “Bridging the gap: a call to the G7 for inclusive progress” will explore four pillars:
The new bottom line: inclusive growth – talent and skills development, private sector accelerators
Women for women: driving economic empowerment globally – Civil society, future of diversity
Common cause: building on the spirit of climate action – Climate change, sustainable tourism, mobility
New frontiers: shaping lives and livelihoods through technology– future of work, social impacts of technology
